The MoS said, “Records of persons granted Indian citizenship under Section 5 (by registration) or Section 6 (by naturalisation) of the Citizenship Act, 1955 are maintained as per the provisions of the Citizenship Act, 1955 are maintained as per the provisions of the said Act and rules made thereunder. These records are not maintained religion-wise,”
In the term of 2014-2019: about 15,030 Bangladeshis were given the Indian Citizenship.
Apart than this, 60 American, 58 Sri Lankan, 31 Nepali, 20 British, 19 Malaysian, 14 Canadian and 13 Singapore nationals were granted India Citizenship as well.
