Days after the horrendous Baghjan Oil Field fire was doused, OIL suffered another major setback once again as one of their young electrical engineers,25-year-old Arnab Kishore Bordoloi was electrocuted to death at the field today evening.
Oil India Limited writes, “Arnab Kishore Bordoloi, a dynamic young electrical engineer of OIL while working with some equipment at Baghjan Blowout well site, suddenly fell down and lost consciousness. He was provided emergency health care by a doctor at site and was taken to AMC where he was declared dead.”
Further they said, “The reasons of the death will be known after the post-mortem. This is a very tragic incident and has created a pall of gloom in OIL. A Team from OIL is carrying out an inspection at a well site to find out possible reasons for this accident.”
After tedious efforts put forth by various teams to douse the fire at the Baghjan gas well number 5 in Baghan oilfield. A leakage was observed at the thread of wellhead casing, prompting experts to halt the diversion of gas at 5.25 pm, and taking the well back to its blowout status with the well-spewing fire.The welding process to fix the leakage at the site was scheduled to begin from today.
