Earlier today, The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out searches on the premises of Karnataka Congress leader DK Shivakumar at 14 locations – Karnataka (9), Delhi (4) and (1) Mumbai – in connection with an alleged corruption case.
The investigation agency has registered a case against Shivakumar and others on the allegations of acquisition of disproportionate assets. (TOI)
Searches were also conducted at house of his younger brother DK Suresh in Bengaluru and Ramanagara.
Shivakumar’s mother, Gowramma to the Media said, “Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Income Tax (IT) & Enforcement Directorate (ED) love my son, that’s why they come again and again. Let them search & take whatever they want. They got nothing, let them arrest my son.”
Congress leaders bashed on the BJP-Yediyurappa Government, calling out CBI-ED as BJP’s ‘frontal organisation’.
This comes ahead of the Karnataka Byelections. Congress leaders cried foul and claimed that the raids were an attempt to derail their preparations for the bypolls in Karnataka. Byelections to two seats, Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Sira, will be held on 3 November.
