A probe has been ordered into the incident that had allegedly taken place in Chainpur police station.
In his complaint, Rajnikanth Dubey (35) of Sonpurwa village said he had been picked up by the police on October 8 on suspicion of vandalism.
Dubey alleged he had been beaten up by the SHO himself and he also gave electric shocks on his private parts at the police station to make him admit to the offense, leaving him severely injured after which he had been hospitalised.
“Strict action will be taken if the allegations are proven to be accurate,” Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar told PTI.
Dr R K Ranjan, who’d medicated Dubey, has also confirmed that he received serious injuries on his private components.
In the complaint, Dubey alleged upon failing to make him admit to the offense, the SHO released him on October 9 with dangers of “dire consequences” if he divulged the incident to anybody.
The SHO, on the other hand, said Dubey was picked up for questioning in connection with a theft from his uncle Gopal Dubey’s house on October 4.
Agitators obstructed the Medininagar-Garhwa road in Shahpur at Chainpur police station region for several hours throughout the day in protest against the alleged episode, resulting in a gigantic traffic jam.
The blockade was lifted following the Medininagar SDPO reached the place along with other police officers and informed the protesters that the SP has ordered a probe into the subject.
