DAVID WARNER SCORES NINTH CONSECUTIVE HALF CENTURY AGAINST KINGS XI PUNJAB

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner smashed ninth straight fifty against Kings XI Punjab in game 22 of the Indian Premier League 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

The stretch of nine consecutive fifties against a single opponent is the highest by any batsman in the IPL. Warner dominates the list having already registered seven half-centuries in a row against RCB from 2014-16. The opener had also scored five fifties in a row against CSK from 2014-19.

Warner brought up the half-century off 37 balls as the team crossed 150-run mark without losing a wicket against Kings XI Punjab.

This was Warner’s 46th fifty in the Indian Premier League. In 132 appearances, Warner has scored 4933 runs at an average of 42.89 and a strike rate of over 141. Warner has also completed 9500 runs in T-20 cricket.
