The Belgian and Austrian foreign ministers, Sophie Wilmes and Alexander Schallenberg habe both tested positive for the corona virus infection.
It was just last month that both these ministers have attended a meeting of EU Foreign Mninisters in Luxembourg.
Sophie Wilmes tweeted on Saturday, “My COVID test result is positive, Contamination probably occurred within my family circle given the precautions taken outside my home.”
On the other hand, a spokesperson for Austria’s Schallenberg, stated that he might have been infected in the EU summit. As a precaution, the entire Cabinet of Austria has been tested.
This summit was also attended by the EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell; the foreign ministers of Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland and Sweden; the deputy foreign minister of Lithuania; and the political director of Portugal, according to official documents.
