Maharashtra Governor, Bhagat Singh Koshyari wrote to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, seeking re-opening of places of worship with COVID precautions.
“I wonder if you’re receiving any divine premonition to keep postponing re-opening or you’ve suddenly turned ‘secular’ yourselves, the term you hated?” letter stated.
It has now sparked controversy over the use & phrasing of sentences by the Governor in the letter.
A Journalist, named Arvind Gunasekar writes, “Mr Governor Koshyari, Do read the Indian constitution please. India is a SECULAR country ! Not just the CM, even you as the constitutional head of the state, should abide by the constitution and be secular!”
Netizens too poured it their views. One writes, “Oh, wow! What language being used by the governor of a state! Dont know which is falling faster in #newindia, GDP or standards of the people holding high offices?”
Other writes, “Massive setback for uddhav Thackrey Govt. exposed.. malafide intention of Uddhav Thackeray Government exposed.. Impact of sonia Gandhi.. Uddhav thackeray lost his moral values.. Uddhav thackry for got philosophy of Balasaheb.. Hunger of power.. Blacken his face.”
