KARNATAKA TO BAN BEEF CONSUMPTION; ANTI COW SLAUGHTER LAW IN TALKS

Karnatka state government is planning to bring a stringent anti cow slaughter law that was previously introduced in 2010 to no avail.  Animal husbandry minister Prabhu Chauhan said, “Safeguarding cows in Karnataka has been one of the top priorities of BJP.  There will be complete ban on consumption on beef”
At present, the Karnataka Prevention of cow slaughter and cattle preservation act 1964 is in place in the state.  It permits non milchcows and disease cattles over 12  years of age.
