NO DURGA PUJA CARNIVAL THIS TIME IN WEST BENGAL, ANNOUNCED MAMATA

“During Durga Puja, a pandal needs to be open from all four sides. Hand sanitisers should be placed at entry points of pandals, & wearing of masks to be mandatory. Physical distancing needs to be maintained. Organising cultural programs at pandals won’t be allowed”, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee spoke.

Durga puja is the prime festival of West Bengal, especially in its capital city Kolkata, it is a big festive season.

With the on going pandemic, and looking into the safety reasons, states of west Bengal and Assam has taken the decision to not allow any chance of transmission of the virus by celebrating a festival with mass gathering.

This year shall be an exceptional one, with minimal preparations, no pandal hopping , also no idols of Devi Durga at many places, with allowance of only Ghat puja .
