SPAIN DECLARES NATIONWIDE EMERGENCY OVER RISING COVID CASES

MADRID, SPAIN: The Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez has declared a nationwide state of emergency in the entire country except the Canary Islands after the resurgence of Covid 19 cases. Spain is currently encountering the second wave of the corona virus.
The measures were agreed earlier Sunday at a two-and-a-half-hour cabinet meeting convened following calls from Spanish regions for the power to impose curfews themselves.

As said by the PM, the situation Spain is going through is extreme and the emergency will last till early May.

However, if conditions allow, the measures will be lifted earlier than anticipated.
