Technology has been growing and Telangana police with the help of a Face Recognition Tool called DARPAN helped bring smiles to a UP based family after five tragic years.
A 13-year-old boy hailing from Handia,UP who had been missing from his home since 14 July,2015 was traced in a state-run child home at Goalpara,Assam.It has been 5 years of the missing persons case that was lodged in the year 2015.On 23 July,2015 he was spotted by the Goalpara polic e and was hence admitted to the child home.
However recently, the Telangana police developed tool DARPAN that helped in matching photographs of missing children with those sheltered in child homes have identified and traced the boy identified as Som Soni.
The family has praised the police efforts and is greatly thankful for their gestures.
The Telangana police ADGP Swati Lakra even said that the department have been using the tool since 2018 and so far they have located and traced 23 missing children.She even said that the main function of the tool is to match the matrix of the face in the photographs which never change even after years.
